A letter from KWO:
The eastern Erzgebirge ("Ore Mountains"), a
mountainous region in Germany near the Czechian border, begins near the town of Olbernhau. The traditional workshops of this area produce wooden toys and artful wood carvings. Olbernhau and near Seiffen - the famous toy making village, are among the traditional folklore centers of the
Erzgebirge.
KWO - Fireman Smoker Man
The workshops of Olbernhau have been noted for their productivity, high quality and outstanding design for decades. They marked their products under the trademark "KWO" and have worked hard to nurture, maintain and develop traditional artistic values in our modern, changing world. Original KWO-products are handcrafted and produced using time-honored artistic processes. They are produced with a wide variety of designs, deeply rooted in the traditions of this cultural landscape.
KWO stands for real, original craftsmanship in the Erzgebirge tradition.
KWO - Railroad Conductor
In the Erzgebirge, the impulse to creation is rooted in the very qualities with which traditional craftsman measure their success: imaginative design and decoration, sure-handed work with top-quality materials, and the love of folk art. Thus it comes as no surprise that nearly all important traditional products of the Erzgebirge are part of our families and KWO's firm's program.
